Online Reputation – Why It's Important
Google Dominos. Depending on when you do this, you’ll get differing results. However if you Google it today you’ll get the following screen shot.

Screenshot of search for Dominos
3 of out the top 10 make reference to (including the direct link) of a disgusting video of Dominos employees going to town on some poor souls sandwich.
Point is Dominos hasn’t done a good job in proactively managing their name online. They’ve only got 1 subdomain ranked in the top 10 and most of the other non-negative references really aren’t that authoritative. Compare this to Microsoft (albeit a technology company) which has 4 subdomains in their top 10. There are many other tactics Dominos could have used to attempt to prevent such bad content being posted about themselves. Now that the damage has been done it will be exponentially more difficult to remove it now that is has become viral. Essentially what they’ll need to do is create approx 7 new results which are more authoritative than these negative results. Bad thing is one of the links is directly to Youtube…which is pretty powerful. Some of even calling YouTube the 2nd most powerful search engine behind Google.
Word to the wise, if you haven’t yet purchased www.yourname.com, do it right now.
